The divinity Ta-urt(&ovijpt?) appears herefor the first time
withthe indication en mama. Thetree mama itselfis known by
othertextsto be the Dum palm (Cuciferathebaica,cf. Loret, Sec.
de trav. rel., etc., II, 27 sqq. ; Moldenke, Ueberdie in altaeg. Texlen
erwaehntenBaeume,p. 66, sqq. ; Woenig, Pflanzenim alten Aegypten,
P- 3IS, saa- Best representation of the tree, Rosellini, Mon. II,
pi. 40, No. 2 ; 69 ; 88 No. 6).
As a sacred tree the Dum palmappearsonlyonce,at Denderah
(Diimichen,Bau-Urkunde,pi. 8, l. 4), where is said, that in a grove of
the temple betweenthe trees also the 1} Jf 1} A were found.
As the Dum palm growsonlywithinthe south of Egypt, the form
of Ta-urt quotedin the Dorpat text must be a local one of this part
of the country. In fact Ta-urt appearsespeciallythereat Silsilis,
withThothandNut, withAmon-Raand Sebek, or nursing King
Horemheb(Leps.,D., Ill, 175 c, 2.00 c, 120 c). Her cult was in
favourin the families of the functionaries of the ast mad ; on their
stelaeshe appears severaltimes, as Sec. de trav. rel,, etc., II, 186;
Lanzone,Die.di mitol., pi. 126, fig. 1, and pi. 380. At the latter
placeshe bears the title f=^ c \ c^\ ~v>™ and this

iet-t has certainly to be looked for in the neighbourhood of Thebes,
and is not to be identified with the canal ^"H(1(1 ~~w in the
Nomosof Heliopolis mentionedby Brugsch, Diet,geogr.,p. 804.
