Without Disclosing My True Identity
(^31) The modern orthodox Mormon often refers to these “secret combinations” as the mafia,
organized crime, and the efforts of subversive groups to overthrow governments and take control of
the people. Many modern conspiracy groups (often made up of Mormons), dedicated to uncovering
and speculating on these “secret combinations,” waste endless amounts of time inventing imaginary
images of secret groups of people within the world’s societies who are “lead by the devil.” These
people believe there are organizations set up to bring about the demise of the “true church of God
and His righteousness. The blindness of these groups keeps them from seeing the true nature of the
meaning of “secret combinations”; and they have no idea what is meant in the Book of Mormon (or in
reality for that matter) by the term. They do not understand that most religions (including, but not
limited to, the powerful LDS Church) are, in fact and in very deed, a “secret combination.”
On one of his visits to the State of Utah on May 29th, 2008, the United States President,
George W. Bush met with LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson. The Salt Lake Tribune (a local
Utah newspaper) published an exclusive “White House Staff” photograph of the two presidents
greeting each other. The photo shows Bush grasping the right hand of Monson in the “Patriarchal
Grip or Sure Sign of the Nail,” one of the most significant and sacred tokens received in the secretive
LDS Temple Endowment. The token is also a Freemason (Masonic) handshake of the highest token of
friendship and “brotherhood.”
