Without Disclosing My True Identity
Upon observing what other mortals had done during their “probationary states” on other
worlds, we saw that very few people ever passed the test of their humanity while mortal.^16
We learned that human nature, in general, especially during mortality, could not be trusted
to ensure equality and fair treatment to all according to the desire and rights associated with
universal free will.
Those of our siblings who were the most confident that they should be allowed the
powers of a creator needed to be placed in the right situations during their “day of
probation” so that their humanity could be tested. Our creators knew that the best place for
these were in experiences and situations in mortality where they would have advantages
over others—where they would have the physical beauty, the brilliance, and the power that
were similar to that possessed by an advanced human creator. If given the opportunity, how
would they act if they thought no one was watching them? What kind of god, what kind of
religion, what kind of factors would prioritize their actions?
These siblings have been placed in the most precious parts of the earth. They have
been born into the wealthier, more privileged, and more respected parts of society. They
have been given physical capabilities and mental capacities that have allowed them to be
fairly tested and proven. So, what have these few of our mutual siblings done with their
opportunity? For one thing, they invented the Bible—and therein proved what kind of
society they would devise and force upon others. By producing the Bible, they failed the test
of their humanity; because, within its pages, they introduced and mandated those things
that would keep the world in bondage to themselves. They also became the leaders of
churches, economies, and nations. However, even after this, they could still use the excuse
that, if they had just been given the choice between the Bible and something better, they
would have chosen the “something better.”
A Different Perspective of “God’s Will”
The Book of Mormon was that “something better.” Its purpose was to give these fully
Gentile siblings the chance to bring equality to the races upon the earth. This chance would be
provided within its storyline. To accomplish this, the record utilized the Native American
experience to open their eyes and see (if they chose to, by using their own free agency) a
different perspective than what they assumed was “God’s ultimate will” contained in the Bible.
The last words written by Mormon summed up the purpose of his record by telling
the Native Americans that they are a “remnant of the house of Israel”: “Know ye that ye are
of the house of Israel.”^17 He told the American Indians to “lay down your weapons of war,
and delight no more in the shedding of blood.”^18 He instructed them that they “must come
to the knowledge of [their ancestors].”^19 He counseled them to
lay hold upon the gospel of Christ, which shall be set before you, not only in
this record [the Book of Mormon] but also in the record which shall come unto
the Gentiles from the Jews [the Bible], which record shall come from the
Gentiles unto you.”^20
Mormon taught within the pages of the Book of Mormon that the standing of the darker-
skinned races before God was equal to that of the Jews and the Gentiles, something that
none of the Bible-believing people of the earth grasped at the time the book was introduced.
