The only way that any imperfect mortal can fully understand the message, as well as
relate to the beings from whom the message is received, is to experience the reality of the
message in a fully conscious state. This occurs with an actual face-to-face encounter, as one
man speaks to another.^22 It cannot be experienced in a dream or in a vision, nor in a delusional
state of mind stimulated by either the extrinsic (drugs) or intrinsic (imagination) forces of our
imperfect natures: these are the various means by which “false prophets” receive their
“messages.” Again, in reality, the manner in which the message is given must be experienced
by the beings delivering and receiving it in an awakened state of full consciousness! In this
state, the event can be recorded in the imperfect brain as vividly as any event that sticks out in
our minds and is easily recalled because of its impact on our experience.

Foreordination in Realistic Terms
The important question to be answered, then, is: what exactly is “foreordination”?
“Foreordination” is a religious term and open to interpretation by the many egos
motivated to define it. As will be proven throughout this true history of Joseph Smith,
religion (including all of its tenets) is simply the attempt of foolish men to prove to everyone
else that they are not fools. Therefore, to best define the true nature of foreordination, we
cannot use a religious explanation. We must provide answers that make sense to everyone,
regardless of their spiritual views or lack thereof.
Human Beings are the Ultimate Life Form
It is an indisputable fact that the human being is the highest life form that exists
upon the earth—“highest” meaning the one with the most potential and opportunity,
not necessarily the one that acts according to the “highest” ethical standards.
Nevertheless, only humans have the conscious ability to consider ethics and set
standards for their species of life. Only humans are cognizant of their own existence in
relation to other life forms. No other life form studies and names other life forms and
worries about its existence in relation to those other life forms. No other life form has the
ability to contrive any idea concerning its existence outside of instinct.
This book is not going to debate how human beings arrived at the state of existence in
which they currently find themselves (full explanations are available elsewhere in the
Marvelous Work and a Wonder® associated with this biography). Whether we evolved to
this state or were first created in this state isn’t crucial to accepting the fact that we are now
the most complex life form that we know.
The next thing to consider is the manner in which our society is changing in
terms of technological advancements that serve our needs and our desires for
happiness—“happiness” being that which all humans pursue and the reason for our
existence. What are we going to know a thousand years from now? What are we going to
