Deco Design Copper and Sterling Silver Earrings and Necklace Chapter 7

7.Place the round discs onto a hard, flat surface.
You can use masking tape on the edges of
the discs to keep them in place while you
stamp them. Select a nail set punch. (These
are inexpensive and can be purchased at any
home improvement store. They usually come
in sets of three sizes; mix up the sizes or
choose just one size to stamp your circles.)

5.Use the ruler to measure and mark the
center of each 1H” piece of copper wire.
Use the ruler to measure and mark G” incre-
ments up and down both of the 1H” copper
wires. This will be where you stamp the
copper wires.

6.After marking the wires, place them onto a
hard, flat surface. You can use a piece of
masking tape on the ends of the wires to
hold them in place. Place the end of the flat
screwdriver onto the mark that you made on
the copper wire and firmly strike the top of
the screwdriver once with a hammer. You do
not want to strike the screwdriver too hard as
it will make the wire too thin and brittle. Do
this to all of the marks that you made on the
two copper wire pieces. If needed, use the
fine grit sanding pad or steel wool to remove
any marker lines left on the copper wire.
Set these aside.
