Sterling Silver Stamped Nature Earrings and Necklace Chapter 8
18.Using round nose pliers, curl one end of the
20-gauge wire into a spiral, stopping at the
I” mark that you made on the wire. With
chain nose pliers, bend the wire so that you
have a 90-degree angle next to the spiral. This
wire will go through the hole in the leaf shape,
and you will place the seed beads on it.
16.After using the oxidizing solution, use fine
steel wool to remove the darkened area on the
raised surface of the leaf shape, leaving the
“veins” dark. Rub the fine steel wool over
the jump rings to remove some but not all
of the darkened areas. Rinse with water, dry,
and rub with polishing cloth. Set these aside.
17.Measure the distance from the two holes
drilled for the wire and seed beads and add
1 H” to that length. This will allow extra wire
so that you can secure the wire to the leaf
shape. After you cut the wire to the desired
length, measure and mark I” from one end
of the 20-gauge wire.
