13.Using a^1 ⁄ 16 ” drill bit, drill holes into each end
of the curved piece of 12-gauge wire and
each of the fish shapes using a handheld
rotary tool, flex shaft, or drill press (don’t
forget to wear your safety glasses).
14.Use the ruler to measure the chain into two
1 H” pieces. Use the wire cutters to cut the
chain and set these pieces aside.
15.Use the file or sanding pad to eliminate any
burs or rough edges left from drilling the
holes into the curved piece of 12-gauge wire
and the fish shapes.16.Apply liver of sulfur or an oxidizing solution
to the fish shapes, curved piece of 12-gauge
wire, piece of 20-gauge wire, chains, bell cap,
clasp, and jump rings. It is very important
to follow any safety recommendations the
manufacturer suggests when using any
chemicals.17.After oxidizing the various pieces, use fine
steel wool to remove some but not all of the
oxidizing solution from the surface of the
fish shapes, curved piece of 12-gauge wire,
the piece of 20-gauge wire, chains, bell cap,
clasp, and jump rings. Rinse with water, dry,
and rub with polishing cloth.
