10.Using a^1 ⁄ 16 ” drill bit, drill holes into each of
the silver rectangles with a handheld rotary
tool, flex shaft, or drill press. Remember to
wear safety glasses.
11.Use the file or sanding pad to eliminate any
burs or rough edges left from drilling holes
into the silver rectangles.
12.Apply liver of sulfur or oxidizing solution to
the textured silver rectangles, bar compo-
nents, and jump rings. It is very important
to follow any safety recommendations the
manufacturer suggests when working with
any chemicals.
8.Measure^1 ⁄ 16 ” from one end of each textured
silver rectangle and place a mark in the
center of each piece. This is where the holes
will be drilled to attach the jump ring and
bar components.
9.Put on the safety glasses. Place the textured
silver rectangles onto a hard, flat surface.
Place the point of the awl on the mark that
you made^1 ⁄ 16 ” from the end of the rectangle
pieces and use a hammer to firmly strike
once on the top of the awl to make a pilot
hole for drilling the holes into the silver
rectangles.
