First, I lay a piece of tracing paper over the ap-
propriate kamea. I draw a tiny circle over the first
letter/number of my name: “6.” Then, using a ruler, I
draw a straight line down to the middle of the next
letter/number: “2.” Then a straight line over to “5,”
another to “9,” back up to “6” (alongside the previ-
ous line), and finally back to “5,” indicating the end
by either another little circle, or a bar. My final sigil,
then, looks like the above right.
It means “Oberon under the influence of the so-
lar attributes.” Now try this with your own name!
When you make a planetary talisman, draw your own
appropriate sigil on the backside to tune the talisman
to yourself. This is why such talismans should be made
by the person whom they are intended to serve.

Lesson 3: Talismans of the
Planetary Powers

Spells can be done for just about any purpose you
can imagine, but most of them can be grouped under
the influences and correspondences of the seven plan-
etary powers. Study the tables of correspondence
(3.VI) and 4.V.4: “Planetary Aspects” to see what
types of spells are suitable for each planet, and then
gather all the associated materials (colors, candles,
herbs, incenses, animals, metals, etc.). Do your spells
on the planetary day and hour, and fine-tune the fo-
cus with the appropriate tools.
Here is a more detailed description of these plan-
etary aspects as they relate specifically to spellwork,
with their squares and sigils for pentacle talismans.
Although such talismans are ideally supposed to be
engraved on disks of the appropriate metal, they can
also be simply drawn on colored paper, parchment,
or cloth for use in spells and charms. I list them here
in the order of their kamea:
