tive reality of fantasy and dream. Different from
Tato, Gianni Croce, Mario Bellusi, and Giorgio
Riccardo Carmelich compose from various every-
day objects abstract still-life constructs that they
pose in harshly contrasting light to bring out the
drama between objects.
Around 1933, the artists Bruno Munari, Tullio
D’Albissola (pseudonym of Tullio Spartaco Maz-
zotti), and Luigi Veronesi began creating photo-
grams. In general, they directed the content of
futurist photography to the themes of dance, sport,
flying, psychological portraits, the still life, the
city, and machines. Giovanni Lista collected, stu-
died, and published many works of futurist photo-
graphy that are now in various private and public
photography collections, such as the George East-
man House in Rochester, New York; the Metro-
politan Museum of Art in New York; the J. Paul
Getty Museum in Los Angeles; Museo di Storia
della Fotografia Fratelli Alinari in Florence, Italy;
and Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di
Trento e Rovereto in Trento, Italy.
