Ministries). We have a number of opportunities available including
Re-Stockers, Cashiers/Baggers, Donation Room, Sorters, Cleaning,

have all the Flowers Gone? Rediscovering Emma Cole’s 19th-
Century Grand Rapids Flora”. 1:00pm. After graduating she
taught at the Vergennes District and Lowell Union Schools. In 1876
she attended Cornell University to study Botany, beginning just six
years after they started admitting women. After 2 years she began
teaching at Central High School and was elected a Vice President of
the Kent Scientific Institute, later the Grand Rapids Public Museum
in 1900. She created an extensive herbarium for the institute
between 1891 and 1900. Join us to learn about the career of Emma

felted wool hat using Merino wool in a variety of available colors. This

Lowell Community Expo – March 26, 2022. One of the premier
networking opportunities the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce
offers our businesses, churches, schools, municipalities, and
organizations is the Annual Lowell Community Expo. The Expo is
held at Lowell High School, Saturday, March 26 from 9 AM to 2 PM.
The Expo will spotlight over 100 area businesses, service groups,
churches and government agencies. A chance to win Lowell Bucks
in the hourly drawings by filling out a Golden Ticket sponsored by
Arrowhead Golf Course. Entertainment is provided throughout the
day on the main stage. Giveaways, interactive displays and Expo
specials. Door prizes raffled all day long. Food and beverages

The Fallasburg Historical Society will participate in Lowell Expo,
Saturday, March 26. We’ll be manning a table with the other non-

March 26. Needle Felted Spring Bird. Create a lovely one-of-a-
kind spring bird 'painting' using dyed wool and fine felting needles.
In this class, we will be using dyed wool and fine felting needles to
create a lovely one-of-a-kind spring bird 'painting'. When finished,
these felted pictures are beautiful framed, or wrapped around a small
canvas. Finished picture is approx. 5”x5" with a large fabric border.

March 26. Wet Felted Luminaries. Add a bit of glow to the spring
evenings by creating a beautiful wet felted Merino luminary. This
class includes instruction and demonstration of the wet felting
technique to create a 3D object, focusing on a thin fiber layout.
The average size is approximately 6” tall with a 5-6” wide diameter.
