5. Carefully add the fish a few pieces at a time into the hot oil. Cook 3–5 minutes, turning
once to brown evenly. The fish is done when it is golden brown and flakes easily with a
fork.
6. Drain the fried fish on paper towels.
Long John Silver's Fish Tacos
Long John Silver's just recently added fish tacos to their menu. You can substitute grilled fish for
a light alternative.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 1
1 soft flour tortilla
1 Long John Silver's Beer-Battered Fish Filet (Chapter 6)
½ cup shredded lettuce
Long John Silver's Baha Sauce (see below), to taste
1. Heat the flour tortilla in the microwave for 30–45 seconds to soften.
2. Place the fish fillet in the center of the tortilla.
3. Add the lettuce and Baja Sauce on top of the fish.
4. Fold like a burrito and serve.
Long John Silver's Baja Sauce
The Baja sauce originated in southern California and inspired the recipe for Long John Silver's
fish tacos. Use this sauce liberally on your tacos.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 1½ CUPS
½ cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons taco seasoning
1 small diced jalapeño pepper
¼ cup fresh lime juice
½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
1. Combine all the ingredients into a small bowl with a lid. Mix well.
