Arby's Apple Turnovers

This recipe is easier than apple pie, and you get the same great taste without all the work.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8
4 large cooking apples
½ cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon lemon juice
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (17.3-ounce) package puff pastry sheets
½ cup confectioner's sugar
1 tablespoon water

1. Peel, core, and slice apples. In a medium saucepan over low heat, cook apples with sugar,
cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon, stirring frequently, for 6–8 minutes until apples are
tender. Refrigerate until cool.
2. Thaw the pastry sheets at room temperature 20 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
4. Unfold the pastry on lightly floured surface. Roll each sheet into a 12′′ square, then cut into
four 6′′ squares. Place ¼ cup of apple mixture in center of each square. Brush the edges
with water. Fold to form triangles and seal edges firmly with a fork.
5. Place on baking sheets and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden. Cool on wire rack.
6. For the sugar drizzle, mix together the confectioners' sugar and water in a small bowl. With
a spoon, drizzle over the turnovers and allow to set before serving.
