ANGLES

  1. Angle
An angle is a measure formed by two rays with a common starting point. In other
words, the space between two lines or surfaces that meet at a point is said to be the
angle. The two lines are also called as the initial side and the terminal side and the
common point is called the vertex.

A sheet of paper in which two creases which originate from the same point may be
created and given to the child. On exploration, the child might be able to understand
that an angle is formed between the two lines.

  1. Measurement of an angle
The rotation made by the ray from its initial side to the terminal side can be measured
in terms of degrees which will be the measure of the angle formed.
The idea needs to be explained with illustrations. A protractor in which adaptations
(with a hole or glue) may be made so that every fifth degree can be felt by the
visually impaired child to measure the angle.
