Demasiado


Demasiadois an adjective or pronoun that varies in number and gender.
The meaning is ‘too much’, ‘too many’:
Tiene demasiado poder.
She wields too much power.
Había demasiada gente en la fiesta.
There were too many people at the party.
Antes no tenía trabajo, ahora tengo demasiado.
Before I didn’t have any work; now I’ve got too much.
Demasiadocan also be used as an adverb meaning ‘too (much)’ and as an
invariable neuter pronoun:
Los colores son demasiado fuertes.
The colours are too bright.
Suelen exigir demasiado.
They usually demand too much.

Todo


As an adjective or pronoun todo varies in gender and number. As an adverb
todois invariable.

Todo as an adjective

Basic use

As an adjective, the basic meaning of todois ‘all (of)’, ‘the whole’. In this
sense it can be used with a noun preceded by the definite article or a posses-
sive or demonstrative adjective:
todo el edificio the whole building
todos nuestros colegas all (of) our colleagues
It can also be used before a pronoun or place name:
todos ellos/ustedes all of them/you
todo París the whole of Paris
