Create the glow of the sun as it moves behind the mountain with the chisel edge of the golden yellow

pastel. Use the flat side of the dark purple pastel to create dark shadows at the edge of the river. Also

add a little color behind the trees in the distance. Place a layer of light purple to create reflections of

the sky in the water. Add the mountains’ reflections below the treeline in the distance.

Use the flat side of the dark brown pastel to create leaves in the trees. Create areas of pale blue

snow. Add pale yellow to create the sky’s reflection in the water.

Continue to add the sky’s reflection in the water using the flat side of the golden yellow pastel. Now

add a layer of rust red to the trees. Also place some color on the ground to indicate plants. Enhance

the reflections of the sky in the water with pale blue.
