Fill in the shape and

tone of the leaves,

and add color to the

flowers. Add warm

shadows. Blending the

pot into shape, create

more shadows using

dark browns, blues,

and purples. Using a

charcoal stick, place

dark shadows.

Now bring back the

strong, vibrant blues

and purples. Create

bright highlights

using the chisel edge.

Adding darker shades

helps the overall

composition.

Then soften the

shadows and create

depth by blending.

Finally, show the light

coming from the

window on the

bottom left.

Layering brighter shades of color

lifts the painting.
