awarding powers and quality control. again, there are a number of national solutions
that could be studied and evaluated in order to find a good way forward.
all this points to a need for a continued international dialogue. in europe, elia and
similar organizations is certainly a framework for such a dialogue on the institutional
level. The challenge is to involve other partners as well: ministries, research councils,
university organizations, rectors’ conferences. The discourse on contents and
methods of practice- based research in and through the arts must in coming years be
complemented with a debate on political and administrative solutions to consolidate
and further this new area of research.
