Do you have the patience to wait
till your mud settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving
till the right action arises by itself?
(Lao-Tzu, Tao-Te-Ching)
I exist as I am, that is enough,
If no other in the world be aware I sit content,
And if each and all be aware I sit content.
One world is aware, and by far the largest to me,
and that is myself,
And whether I come to my own today
or in ten thousand or ten million years,
I can cheerfully take it now, or with equal
cheerfulness,
I can wait.
(Walt Whitman, Leaves Of Grass)
TRY: Looking into impatience and anger when they
arise. See if you can adopt a different perspective,
one which sees things as unfolding in their own time.
This is especially useful when you are feeling under
pressure and blocked or stymied in something you
want or need to do. Hard as it may seem, try not to
push the river in that moment but listen carefully to it
