Green light
In midsummer, conservatories
can become too hot, so cover the
ceiling with made-to-measure
blinds (try Hillary’s or Duette).
Woven blinds work well, as they
help regulate temperature while
still diffusing light. If you use
your room year round, either
plumb it in to your central heating
or consider a freestanding heater
(such as Dyson’s high-tech fan).
Add curtains to provide shade
when the sun becomes too
bright and to help retain
warmth at night; a botanical
print will blur the boundary
between inside and out.words CAROLYN
