The nature of design

I’ve been digging into biophilic design

and I’m convinced by the ‘science’

of it all. It’s based on the thinking

that, as we feel more happy when in

nature, interiors that remind us of

foliage can be soothing for the soul.

Expect to see colours and textures of

the garden being co-opted into our

homes, from lampshades in leaf-like

patterns to sweeping murals evoking

the serenity of the great outdoors.

EASY UPDATE

A friend recently overhauled their Ikea

kitchen with cupboard fronts by the Danish

brand Reform, which can be fixed on to

existing frames and come in every colour

imaginable. Soft pink, shiny gold, or a mix

of everything in between. Transformative.

Feast from the East

I’ve cooked a lot from Sabrina

Ghayour’s four Persian cookbooks

over the years, and feel like I’ve

developed a good taste for

the f lavours of Iran. So I was

blown away when I tried Modern

Persian Kitchen, a frozen-food

delivery company (stick with me) for

restaurant-quality dishes. The zereshk

polo, pictured, which contains saffron

rice with barberries and pomegranate,

is my new go-to for when actual
