Note that additionally if you use Failover Clustering, which should always be the case
for a production Hyper-V environment, many of the activities previously done with
Hyper-V Manager will need to be completed using Failover Cluster Manager. If you
use SCVMM, it can equally manage clustered and unclustered environments without
using the native Windows Server tools. Once you decide to use SCVMM, you should
only use SCVMM.


Figure 5. 12 shows a Windows 10 client that has the Hyper-V Manager, Hyper-V
PowerShell module, and SCVMM console running at the same time. The only
requirement is that the user has the correct privileges on the Hyper-V hosts and
SCVMM. The SCVMM 2012 R 2 console is supported back to Windows 7 SP 1 , as
