history & physical
■Pruritic rash on occluded areas or areas exposed to heat
■Caused by occlusion of the eccrine sweat ducts and pores, which
leads to retention of sweat
■Back-up pressure causes rupture of sweat gland into adjacent tissue.
■Eruption is more common in hot, humid climates and hot summer
months.
■May occur in hospitalized patients with a high fever
