noviruses, some enteroviruses (pts with influenza/adenovirus

often have higher fever, more severe illness)

Complications

■Predispose to bacterial sinusitis

■Predispose to otitis media

■May precipitate asthma attacks

■Exacerbation of bronchitis in COPD

■Possibly – predispose to bacterial pneumonia, unproven

■Good handwashing
