LAMBUS
Keeps everything related to a trip in one app
Pulls data from Google Maps
A bit sluggish
Doesn’t recognize dates outside range
SOLID

Lambus wants to be
the only app you need
to make travel plans. It
combines a messaging
app with an itinerary planner, note
taker, expenses tracker, and photo
album. And it does a pretty good job.
You start by setting up a trip,
giving it a name, adding dates, and
inviting friends along for the ride.
Once you’ve created your trip, you
can add waypoints, along with dates
for visiting them, as well as places
you want to visit while you’re there.
Documents can be added by
photographing them from within the
app, grabbing an image from your
iPhone’s photo library, or forwarding
an email to an address that
corresponds with your account and
trip. Expenses can be typed in and
added up in the Expenses section,
photos added to the trip’s gallery,
and conversations engaged in with

those you’ve invited to share
the trip.
There’s nothing here you
couldn’t do in multiple other
apps. But that’s the point:
you don’t need multiple
apps, just Lambus.
Lambus looks great, and
we particularly liked the way
that it hooks into Google
Maps so that when you add
a place you want to visit, it
displays an address, photos,
dqg#rļhuv#wr#fdofxodwh#
a route. You can also add
your own notes to each
place, and view it in Google
Maps itself.
There are some issues
with Lambus. For example, when
creating a trip you must add the start
dqg#Ľqlvk#gdwhv1#Krzhyhu/#li#|rx#
then add a waypoint with a visit date
that’s outside the range of dates you
set for the trip, Lambus just accepts
them. There’s no warning to tell
you that those dates don’t work for
that trip. And it lacks many of the
features that make apps like TripIt
really useful, such as reminding
you when it’s time to leave for
the airport and time to check in.
One addition we’d love to see is
recommendations for waypoints on
a trip, or places to visit at waypoints.
Also, while we found the interface
intuitive and the app easy to use, it
felt a little sluggish on our iPhone

XR, especially when adding photos or
documents. In the end, Lambus is a
neat idea reasonably well executed,
but it could’ve been so much better.
THE BOTTOM LINE. If you’re
a regular traveller and like the idea
of keeping everything related to
your journeys in one app, Lambus
could very well be for you.
