of the best deli and matzo ball
soup in the area. We live in
Bethesda and have been to
Wagshal’s, Parkway Deli and
Attman’s in Potomac. Do you
have a preference or other
restaurants/delis to recommend?

ASK TOM FROM 10 A: I’m a fan of the bowl at
Parkway Deli. In fact, I had its
chicken soup earlier this
morning! In Washington,
Unconventional Diner, which
offers delivery, does a terrific
chicken-matzo ball soup for $16
(keep in mind, it’s a restaurant,
not a deli).

Q: We have extended family
visiting from Europe for their
first trip to D.C. next week and
are at a loss planning lunches
and dinners out. I’m specifically
looking for two or three
restaurants that can sit 11 people
(ages 2-60, no picky eaters)
without reserving a private room

or being at the mercy of first-
come-first-served. Do you have
any suggestions in Old To wn,
Georgetown or near the National
Mall?
A: Happy to assist:
l Old To wn: Ada’s on the
River and Hummingbird.
l Georgetown: Pizzeria

Paradiso and the historic
Martin’s Tavern (outside).
l Near the Mall: Central
Michel Richard (love the patio).
Good luck!
