Perhaps, then, we should leave the final word
with former Apple CEO Steve Jobs. In 2010, he
insisted: “Privacy means people know what
they’re signing up for. In plain English, and
repeatedly, that’s what it means. Ask them.
Ask them every time. Let them know precisely
what you’re going to do with their data.” That’s
a philosophy those of us working on this
magazine would struggle to disagree with!
