Cut Fabrics
Cut pieces in the following order.
Cut solid gray inner and outer
border strips lengthwise (parallel to
selvages).From cream print, cut:- 6—2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
From solid gray, cut: - 2—10^1 ⁄ 2 ×96" outer border
strips - 2—10^1 ⁄ 2 ×76" outer border
strips - 2—5^1 ⁄ 2 ×72" inner border strips
- 2—5^1 ⁄ 2 ×62" inner border strips
- 1—30" square, cutting it
diagonally twice in an X for 4
triangles total - 4—20" squares
Assemble Diamond Units
Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions
indicated by arrows on diagrams.
If no direction is specified, press
seam toward darker fabric.Finished Quilt: 96" square

42" of usable fabric width.

together five different assorted
A print 2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips and one
cream print 2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strip to make
Strip Set A; offset each strip 2" from
previous strip. - Using acrylic ruler, trim left-
hand edge of Strip Set A at a 45°
angle (Diagram 2). Measuring
from cut edge, cut eight 2^1 ⁄ 2 "-wide
A segments. Label segments and
stack them together.
Strip set construction and color placement simplify
the assembly of this Lone Star.
