Layer Unit E atop Pocket Panel
A with right sides together. Sew
together along side and bottom
edges, backstitching at beginning
and end of seam for reinforcement,
to make bag body (Diagram 11).
7. To shape bottom of bag, at one
corner of bag body match bottom
seam line to side seam line, creating
a fl attened triangle (Diagram 12).
Measuring 2^1 ∕ 2 " from point of
triangle, draw a 5"-long line across
triangle. Sew on drawn line. Trim
excess fabric, leaving^1 ∕ 4 " seam
allowances. Repeat with remaining
corner to make outer bag.
8. Fold green print 1^1 ∕ 2 ×5" rectangle
in half lengthwise; fi nger-press crease
and unfold. Fold long edges to meet
center crease (Diagram 13); fold in
half again and press. Topstitch close
to each long edge. Fold in half and
baste a scant^1 ∕ 4 " from raw ends to
make a key ring loop.
