To cut A–D pieces using the
Creative Grids 30° Triangle ruler,
complete the following steps.
- To cut A and A reversed pieces
from a strip set, align the 4½"
mark on ruler with bottom edge of
a strip set (Diagram A, Step 1). Cut
along left-hand edge of ruler. Mark
127/8" from the top left-hand corner
of fabric. Keeping 4½" line on ruler
along bottom of strip set, align left-
hand edge of ruler with mark; cut
along left-hand edge to make an A
piece (Step 2). To cut an A reversed
piece, make each cut along right-
hand edge of ruler (steps 3 and 4). - To cut B pieces, cut a 12½×42"
strip of fabric. Align top of ruler
with top edge of strip; the 12½"
line on ruler should align with
bottom of strip (Diagram B). Cut
along left- and right-hand edges
of ruler to make a B piece. Rotate
ruler 180° to cut next piece. - To cut C pieces, cut a 12½×42"
strip of fabric. Referring to
Diagram C, align 163/4" mark on
ruler with bottom edge of strip.
Cut along left- and right-hand
edges of ruler to make a C piece.
The narrow top edge should be
2⅝" wide. Rotate ruler 180° to
cut next piece. - To cut D pieces, cut a 12½×42"
strip of fabric. Align top of ruler
with top edge of strip; the 12½"
line on ruler should align with
bottom of strip. Cut along left-hand
edge of ruler (Diagram D, Step 1).
Mark 13⅜" from the top left-hand
corner of fabric. Keeping 12½"
line on ruler along bottom of strip,
align left-hand edge of ruler with
mark; cut along left-hand edge
to make a D piece (Step 2). To cut
a D reversed piece, make each cut
along right-hand edge of ruler.
