Fall 2019

Special thanks to Stella the
dog for hosting our photo
shoot at her house!
Autumn Equinox Sweater,
page 14.
What are you crocheting this fall?

We’d argue that autumn is the best season to pick up a
crochet project. As the weather cools off , the sweater or
blanket you’ve been working on fi lls up more of your
lap. Th ere are sheep and wool festivals to get you in the
mood to work with something woolly and afternoons in
the stands at a sporting event to keep you entertained
while stitching a simple project. And it’s not just kids
who go back to school; September is a great time for
people of all ages to pick up some new skills.

We asked the staff of Interweave Crochet what they’re
looking forward to making this fall.

Managing Editor Laura Hulslander pictures herself
making a cozy afghan by a roaring fi replace.

Project Editor Susanna Tobias has been meaning to
check out one of Colorado’s yurts—and what better
place to stitch up a sweater?

Art Director Kerry Jackson plans to fi nally fi nish a cowl
she’s been working on—maybe she’ll take it on a
camping trip and fi nish it by the light of the campfi re.

Assistant Editor Julia Pillard wants to learn more
about crochet and plans to tackle a scarf.

Editorial Director Anne Merrow thinks the only
way a football game could be interesting is with a
small, straightforward project in hand—she has a
hat in mind.

By the time the snow fl ies, we’ll be warm and toasty
with the pieces we crocheted in the autumn.

Happy stitching!
