The secret’s out (BBC1, 6.30pm)
I, too, agree with what Charles Foster said
about the poor quality diction of some current
announcers. Nobody wants to go back to the
accents of early BBC English, but it is patronising
to the listener to foist this sloppy stuff on us.

As a person with a hearing disability, I find it
difficult to watch and understand a lot of the
spoken words on TV today. Even some of the
news readers cannot always be understood.
