EACH year, a photography competition run
by the American non-profi t National
Audubon Society attracts thousands of
entrants. The society’s mission is to protect
birds and their habitats, many of which are
protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act

  • something which Audubon says is under
threat from the current US Administration.
This year, the grand prize went to Kathrin
Swoboda for her fantastic shot of a red-
winged blackbird appearing to blow smoke
rings. It was shot with a Nikon D500 and
    200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens.
