recommended.
COMMENTS
Prognosis for CnEL: remission may be achieved in 80% of dogs; median survival time
depends on type/form of lymphoma; range 2 months to years.
Prognosis for CEL: guarded to grave; cure is extremely unlikely unless a solitary, early
lesion can be surgically excised: median survival time for dogs depends on stage of
disease at diagnosis, therapeutic choice, and response to therapy; varies from weeks to
longer than 18 months; dogs and cats may live for longer than 2 years after diagnosis
(rarely).
The goal is to maintain a good quality of life for as long as possible.
Radiation therapy: total skin electron beam therapy (TSEBT) or orthovoltage radia-
tion is well tolerated and may be beneficial in some cases.
Death is usually the result of euthanasia.
