The makers
G Stuff
Founded in 2013 by
Department of Environment
and Natural Resources
secretary Gina Lopez,
G-Stuff focuses on making
products that are good for
customers, communities in
need, and the environment.
They sell and produce a
variety of natural products
that range from premium
virgin coconut oil to
handmade soaps. The
organization currently
employs indigenous people
from Palawan and a handful
of other tight-knit Filipino
communities to help
produce their eco-friendly
home and skincare products.
Tsaa Laya
Founded by Jamir Ocampo
under his business Kapwa
Greens, Tsaa Laya is a social
enterprise based in Calauan,
Laguna, which fosters a
community to plant local
herbs and plants to turn into
delicious teas and tisanes
for a wide market. In tandem
with the Don Bosco brothers
and the Ayala Foundation,
Tsaa Laya aims to rehabilitate
women, particularly mothers
who were relocated to
Calauan after natural
disasters, through farming
and business education.
Caritas Margins
Started by the Church-
based Caritas Manila, Caritas
Margins is an organization
with a special focus on
elevating those “who have
been left at the margins,”
such as the poor and
the neglected, through
social entrepreneurship
training programs. Caritas
Margins, through Caritas
Manila’s skills training
program, teaches urban poor
partners to start their own
businesses, and produce
handcrafted products such
as kitchenware, soaps, bags,
and religious items.
Karaw
Craftventures
This craft-based social
enterprise was formed
to assist underprivileged
families and communities
through art and recycling.
Karaw offers work and
training opportunities to
newly freed inmates from
the Naga City Jail. They
also make environmentally
conscious products by using
upcycled scrap fabrics and
other recyclable materials.
