The OMIM: A resource for exploring human

genetic disorders

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University have developed a
Web-based catalog of human genetic disorders called Online
Mendelian Inheritance in Man, or OMIM (Figure A.13).

Physicians, scientists, and the public can use the OMIM to

learn more about more than 10,000 inherited diseases and

disorders, including those discussed in this textbook.
