Prehistoric Mammals. In the previous chapter, we saw a plethora of transitional forms among
the other groups of placental mammals, and if we had more space, we could provide them for
nearly every group. But it’s time to get to the real $64,000 question that interests us the most:
what about us humans? That will be the subject of our chapter 15.
