Dear Cricket,
I like the way everybody says “Hey, every-
buggy,” but I think I just want to say “Howdy!”
I started reading Cricket about a year ago, so
I’m still just a bit of a beginner and I don’t know
Ladybug, Cricket, or all of the other bugs in the
group. I really want to know them and have a
favorite! I really like your stories and want to
be an author. I am already writing a book. I also
want to be a singer and I have been told that I
have a pretty voice.
I love dogs and have a lot of pets: a dog,
seven chickens (who are my best friends!), three
f ish, and two frogs. I also have four brothers. I’m
the second oldest and have had type 1 diabetes
for over f ive years. My mom homeschools all of
us. My favorite book series is The Penderwicks.
They are great books about four girls and their
adventures. I really like to read and play with Crazy
Aaron’s Thinking Putty. My favorite singer is Britt
Nicole, and I love making slime. I can’t wait to read
your next magazine!

P.S.I almost forgot to tell you that we have three

animals we can f ind. Over a couple of years we
have seen coyotes, bears, deer, and bobcats!
God’s creation is amazing!

Dear Everybuggy,
Greetings from a recent backpacking
obsessee! (I think that’s a word.) I recently
wentonafour-daygroupbackpackingtripand
fell in love with it. Now I’m planning
to go on a two-day with my dad.
We’re going to sleep in hammocks

Konnichiwa, everyone!
I love singing, climbing trees,
and everything to do with Japan.
I am a dreamer and I love to read
and write. Another one of my
passions is animals and nature in
general. I love to paint mythical
animals and characters of my own
creation. I’m new to Chatterbox and
I can’t wait to get to know everyone.

P.S. Arrietty isn’t my real name; it’s from one of my
favorite books, The Borrowers.
Dear Cricket,
I love your magazine sooo much! I f irst
thought I would not like it as much as Spider. But I
like your magazine a lot, maybe a little more than
Spider. I’m a bookworm so maybe I like longer
stories.

I know 100,000 people have said this, but I
love your magazine! Every month when I f inish my

three nights, so I have to wait a lot of time before
it comes. For some reason, I get special dreams
after readingCricket. I know you’re supposed to
read part of the comic at the end, but I read it f irst.

Goat on Chatterbox. Today I will
write a nice, old-fashioned letter.
Fellow CBers, I agree Ugly Bird
is not ugly. He is fabulous. I think his
real name is Hector.

Welcome to the thread of the Gallus
gallus domesticus, or domesticated
chicken! You can call it the chicken
thread to make things easier. Just
post stuff about chickens!
I’m trying to develop a new breed
of bantam. I bred my white cochin
bantam, Mr. Peabody, with some brown
leghorns a while back, and the resulting
chicks grew up to be so pretty. Their color-
ing is really unique. I’m going to see what their
chicks look like. Also, I’m hatching more chicks. I
already have a customer who wants to buy some.
*sniff les, because selling adorable day-old chicks
is not very fun*
Does anybody else have troubles with ag-
gressive roosters? We’ve got one cowardly white
leghorn named Foghorn Leghorn. He’ll attack you
when you turn around and run away as soon as he
hits you. It’s really annoying but he mostly stays in
another pasture, thank goodness.

Here’s a thought that I think is
really fun: What would you do if you
couldbeinvisibleforaday?You
wouldn’t have any rules or laws or
anything like that preventing you
from doing anything while you’re
invisible.
IfIwereinvisibleforaday,I
would: go to a bunch of muse-

seewhat’supwhenI’mnotthere,
do pranks (a lot), and go to school,

MYTHICAL ANIMALS, TOO!

THEY WON’T
ALWAYS AGREE TO
IT, THOUGH.

OOO! IF I WAS
INVISIBLE I’D
BRING MY
FRIENDS FLOWERS,
AND NOTES,
AND TREATS TO
SURPRISE THEM.
