background.Constructionpaperworksbestforcutouts.)

glue

What to Do:

1. Sketchtheoutlineofa dragon’sheadontocoloredpaper(f igure1).


2. Foldthepaperlengthwiseanddrawindesigndetails(f igure2).


3. Startingatthefold,cutoutthedetailsonthedesignyou’ve
   sketched.Becarefulnottocuttotheedgeofthesketch(f igure3).


4. Oncealloftheinternaldesignsarecutout,youmaycutalongthe
   outlineofyoursketch(f igure4).


5. For the dragon’s body segments, use at least 8 sheets of colored
   paper. On each sheet sketch a body segment.

THE CHINESE INVENTED paper—and paper money, too, so it

should come as no surprise that they’re also experts at creating

beautiful works of paper-cut art.
