What You’llNeed:
paperofvariouscolors(Cellophaneorbutcherpaperworkswellfor
background.Constructionpaperworksbestforcutouts.)
sharp-pointedscissors
pencil
glue
What to Do:
- Sketchtheoutlineofa dragon’sheadontocoloredpaper(f igure1).
- Foldthepaperlengthwiseanddrawindesigndetails(f igure2).
- Startingatthefold,cutoutthedetailsonthedesignyou’ve
sketched.Becarefulnottocuttotheedgeofthesketch(f igure3). - Oncealloftheinternaldesignsarecutout,youmaycutalongthe
outlineofyoursketch(f igure4). - For the dragon’s body segments, use at least 8 sheets of colored
paper. On each sheet sketch a body segment.
THE CHINESE INVENTED paper—and paper money, too, so it
should come as no surprise that they’re also experts at creating
beautiful works of paper-cut art.
