Holland America sets


sights on Canada and


New England in 2020


Holland America Line’s Amster-
dam, Zaandam and Zuiderdam are
set to transport guests to the stun-
ning coastlines of Canada and New
England on more than 40 cruises
departing between April and
October 2020. Beginning in April,
the three ships will sail a collection
of six-, seven-, eight-, 10-, 11- and
14-day cruises from Boston; Fort
Lauderdale; New York City;
Montreal and Quebec City. These
cruises will call at some of the
region’s most iconic destinations,
including Charlottetown, Sydney
and Halifax, as well as Bar Harbor,
Maine.
On April 21, 2020, Zaandam will
kick off the spring season with an
11-day Atlantic Coast cruise, which


departs from Fort Lauderdale and
calls at Newport; Boston; Bar
Harbor; Halifax and Sydney;
Charlottetown; Quebec City and
Montreal. The ship will sail a

similar itinerary departing May 26,
with a port of call in Portland,
Maine and scenic cruising along the
Saint Lawrence River.
From May through September
2020, both Amsterdam and Zaan-
dam will offer a series of seven-day
Canada and New England Discover
cruises between Montreal and
Boston, featuring calls at Boston,
Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney,
Charlottetown and Quebec City.
Special six- and eight-day itinerar-
ies are featured departing Oct. 3
and Oct. 9, respectively.

Three new trips in


Trafalgar’s USA &
Canada program
Trafalgar’s 2019 USA & Canada pro-
gram is stacked with 39 handcrafted
itineraries, including three new trips, to
81 cities across North America, Alaska,
Hawaii and Central America. New
this year is the 14-day ‘Alaska and the
Yukon’ adventure featuring a ‘Local
Specialist’ experience with a local gold
miner, as well as the eight-day ‘Cape
Cod Delights’ guided vacationl from
Boston to Martha’s Vineyard. Also new
is the nine-day ‘Five Epic National
Parks’ adventure, a guided vacation of
some of America’s top national parks.

Tauck’s new U.S. cruises sail to Alaska and Great Lakes


It’s full steam ahead for Tauck, which has two new small ship cruises in
the U.S. on tap for 2019. First is the eight-day ‘Alaska’s Inside Passage’,
priced from $8,540 aboard the Ponant ship Le Soléal, and the second is
the 12-day ‘Cruising the Great Lakes: Chicago to Toronto’ journey, priced
from $9,740, that includes a seven-night cruise aboard Ponant’s Le
Champlain and two-night hotel stays in each city.
Highlights of the Alaska cruise include a vintage rail journey to White
Pass Summit, a wildlife safari at Chilkat Lake and a visit to a sled-dog
camp. The Great Lakes cruise traverses Lakes Michigan, Huron, Erie and
Ontario, and is highlighted by an architectural cruise and visit to Wrigley
Field in Chicago and off-road adventure in the dunes.
