WHAT IT IS:A minimally invasive
microdermabrasion skin treatment
that mechanically exfoliates the outer
layer and vacuums dead skin cells
away, revealing a softer, smoother
more luminous complexion (when
you skim the top off your stratum
corneum, the body replaces it
with new, healthy cells).
With no downtime, it’s a great
“lunchtime” treatment for nearly all
skin types (those with active acne
should skip it) and ideal for a quick,
instant glow with practically zero risk
of irritation, sensitivity or peeling.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE:The treatment
begins after a thorough cleanse, and
it’s so painless it’s actually relaxing
— just a gentle tug as the suction tip
moves around the face. Even areas
that require a bit more attention, such
as congested T-zone trouble spots,
experience no discomfort while
they’re being worked over.
The microdermabrasion (which
takes around 10 minutes) is followed by
a gentle enzyme and hyaluronic acid
mask (Skinstitut’s Enzymatic Micro Peel)
to further encourage luminosity. It feels
slightly tingly as it’s being massaged
on, but it’s very tolerable.
My technician, who has walked
me through each step and product,
finishes with an antioxidant serum,
nourishing rosehip oil and SPF 50.
VERDICT:My skin is slightly pink
immediately after the treatment due
to the increased blood and oxygen
circulation, but it quickly subsides.
My pores look smaller and clearer
and my foundation glides on, looking
perfectly dewy with no extra effort.
The treatment also increases prod
penetration (by up to 50 per cent)
I notice my skin responding particu
well to serums for the next week.
This is recommended for those
looking for a gentle, affordable (it
than the cost of a facial) resurfacin
treatment with almost no risk. If you
looking for a natural, chemical-free
option, opt for the “express” and yo
skip the accompanying products.

Rethinking the way we perform
mundane tasks is Dyson’s MO,
and their latest innovation reinvents
hairstyling — simultaneously drying
and curling. “Water breaks down
hair bonds and heat resets them,”
explains Sam Burrowes, advanced
design engineer for Dyson. “If we
can dry the hair while curling it, the
bonds will reset with a much lower
heat than you need when using
a traditional wand on dry hair.” The
result is the Airwrap that uses 100°C
air (as opposed to the 180°C heat
standard to tongs or flat irons), which
sucks the hair around the barrel (no
clamp needed), drying and curling in
