Dollhouse Details
O^1 Prepare and paint
Wash the entire dollhouse with
diluted sugar soap to remove any dirt
and grime. When dry, apply two coats
of ESP, letting it dry between each
coat. he ESP will bond the paint to
the melamine walls and loors. Using
the paint sprayer, apply two coats of
undercoat primer, letting it dry between
each coat. Apply two coats of white
paint to the interior and exterior using
the same method as the undercoat.
Let this dry completely.
TIP If you don’t have a paint sprayer,
use a 100mm high-density foam roller
to apply the paint with a smooth inish.
O^2 Add colour and details
For an accent colour, carefully apply
Domino paint to the balustrades
and edges with the 25mm bevel liner
paintbrush. Paint the interior rooms
in your chosen colours with a 100mm
high-density foam roller and bevel
brush as necessary. Apply a second
coat, being sure to let it thoroughly
dry between coats.
TIP For a budget-friendly option,
check out the table of mis-tinted paint
samples in your local hardware store
to use as interior colours. You may even
have sample pots hidden away that
you can put to use.
O^3 Lay the flooring
Measure the loor for each room and
then transfer the dimensions onto the
back of the Mocha Parquet self-stick
vinyl tile. Score the tile using a utility
knife and ruler, then lip over and score
the top side, which should be enough
to cut through the entire piece of vinyl.
Remove the paper backing and adhere
into position. If some rooms require
two pieces to be joined together, irmly
wedge them together before pressing
into place to create a seamless inish.
TIP Make sure you cut the tile with
the pattern facing the same way for
a cohesive result.
