O^1 Cut timber and bars
Use the square with a pencil and level
to measure and mark the width of the
timber pieces at 200mm. hen, wearing
safety gear, clamp each one and cut with
a circular saw. Clamp the reinforcing
bars and cut six bars to 150mm lengths
with a grinder. Sand shelves smooth,
apply varnish with a brush and let dry.
O^2 Drill bar holes
Locate two wall studs with a stud inder
and mark two hole positions per shelf
(six holes for three shelves). Use a spirit
level to ensure they’re level. Use a 12mm
spade bit to drill six holes into the wall
and studs 70mm deep. Tap the bars into
the holes with a mallet or hammer,
exposing the ends to support the shelves.
O^3 Secure the shelves
Mark the two positions for the bars on
each shelf. Clamp the shelves to your
workbench and drill holes 80mm deep
with the spade bit to it the bars. Ensure
you drill straight, so the shelves will sit

holes and gently tap each shelf with a
