Main. Rea celebrates being the series’ most winningest rider 1. The factory Kawasaki teammates aren’t mates at
the best of times, but fireworks erupted between the pair at Brno 2. Two weeks after his teammate took Yamaha’s
first win since its 2012 WSBK return, Alex Lowes nabs his first-ever SBK win 3. According to Mumma Lowes, this
is the face you pull when one of your sons wins his maiden Superbike race 4. A Yamaha one-two in Race 2 proved
last round’s double Yamaha win wasn’t a one-off 5. What, no cape? Rea appropriates Sykes’ ‘Superpoleman’
celebrations with his own, somewhat lame ‘Recordman’ shirt.

“Looking at my lap times, we had the pace to
finish further up the field, but after colliding
with another rider on lap one, I just put my
head down and tried to catch as many people
as I could. I had a big moment on lap six in
turn three. I thought we missed the mark on
setup, but then two turns later I saw Morais
crash after losing the front in turn five. I just
tried to settle down and let the tyres recover
after abusing them when I was coming
through the field. After the tires cooled down,
I was able to attack again. I felt like I was
on the limit because our bike is still lacking
acceleration. I can’t even draft pass anyone, I
have to dive bomb people on the brakes. We
need to find more power.”

Grid 21st, Race DNF, 27th.
Tommy Edwards improved as
the Brno weekend progressed,
the 16-year-old Aussie
finished 10th in opening
warm-up session, but lost
out in the short 15 minute
qualifying session which
mean he started from 21st on
the grid. “Tommy has shown
to be an excellent starter and
he shot away was fighting for
the eighth,” a team statement
read. “Unfortunately, this
ended in the a crash,” his team
said. “We, as a team, are keen
on revenge at Misano.”

Tom Toparis

Motoport Kawasaki
Grid 25th, Race 19th, No Score Yet.
“I’m really grateful for the
opportunity to race in Europe
for the first time. It was a
challenge to learn the new
bike and track in only 60
minutes of track time before
the race, but I’m happy
to have finished and I’m
content with 19th place. A
massive thank you to Ben
Henry and everyone who
made this possible, and also
to the awesome Motoport
Kawasaki Team. What
an experience the Czech
Republic has been.”
