NEW MODEL RANGE FOR

J

ust recently we were invited to
the Gold Coast for the unveiling
of Stacer’s brand new model range
for 2018. What we found was one of
the most significant steps forward
in Stacer’s history. Not only has the
company developed four completely
new model ranges, but also a tricky
new hull configuration. The Revolution
concave hull incorporates a curved
bottom sheet and raised chine – a
combination that vastly improves
stability and ride.
Conditions for the test run on the
Southport Broadwater were pretty
average, with blustery southerly winds

and intermittent rain squalls – not
exactly optimum weather for running
around in open boats, but handy for
testing their capabilities. The Gold Coast
is most often associated with warm,
sunny days, light winds and blue skies,
but it seems like every time we travel
up there for boat testing, the weather is
more like Tasmania!
I was particularly impressed with
the new stable of Territory Strikers,
which are light in weight and obviously
designed for creek and estuary fishing
in the Top End, but also will cover many
bases here in SA. There are three
models in the Striker range – 349, 369

and 389 – all of which feature a deeper
vee, increased beam and deeper sides.
I can see these three new dinghies
proving extremely popular with those
looking for a sturdy, but light river,
estuary or lake fishing rig.
The Stacer Crossfire range consists
of five new models – 469, 499, 519,
539 and 589 – that are built on the
Revolution hull. More substantial side
sheets are incorporated in the Crossfire
design, along with live bait tanks,
underfloor storage and self-draining
decks. For keen anglers there is also
a version fitted out with an elevated
forward casting platform and room
