Selecting Linens
When choosing bed linens,
Egyptian cotton is the widest
selected option (percale or
sateen) in contraposition to
linen, which is less soft and
wrinkles more; and silk, which
is warmer and more delicate.
Egyptian cotton is the more
durable and pills less, but
there is some confusion
regarding the thread count
as a measure of quality. The
maximum comfort ranges
between 400 and 600 TC,
above that the sheet becomes
heavier, too warm and less
supple, as if you were sleeping
under a tablecloth! So we
do not recommend above
600 TC.
It is the owner’s personal
taste which will incline you
for percale or sateen. Percale
is woven with the same
number of threads in the
warp and weft, whereas satin
has unbalanced weave, which
gives more surface pilling.
Percale keeps you cooler
whilst satin is warmer and
need less ironing.
To give your linens a long
life, wash them in cold water
and very little detergent, and
use the dryer at medium
temperature. Always wash like
items together to minimize
the abrasion and never store
by sealing them in plastic.
Any doubts, please contact us

any of your linens.
