Sportsman Show time
This report and photo was posted by ‘DAX’ in the Deer Hunting forum on March 15.
I have been going to the Louisiana Sportsman Show for many years, but I had
the chance to help out at QDMA/Big Buck Contest booth this (year).

The amount of
venders in the
outdoor indus-
try that were
there was just
crazy — and
the people who
came through
just looking
was pretty cool
to see.
I love Louisi-
ana; we really
do live in
Sportsman
Paradise.
My addiction
is deer hunt-
ing, it’s in my DNA. Crazy motivated year round. So to see the bucks that were
brought in firsthand was a rush.
I believe we checked-in over 100 bucks from the region, a few Midwest, too.
But the majority were from Louisiana and Mississippi, and there were some
unbelievable bucks.
So, Ya we have big deer in the South.
All of these racks were taped by B&C score officials from the Louisiana Depart-
ment of Wildlife and Fisheries. These guys put many hours into measuring all
those racks, too. ■

Made a trip to Toledo
bend March on March 13.
Raining, rising water — we
were only on the water for a
total of 16 hours, but we still
caught fish every day.
We were dragging soft
plastics and caught a few
throwing a crankbait. Water
on the south end was clean,
and the north end was
muddy, muddy. ■

LouisianaSportsman.com member FAREGAME posted this
picture of a bunch of catfish — including a huge “tabby” — in
the Freshwater Fishing’s southeast forum on March 16. He didn’t
give away his hotspot, simply saying the “big boy” topped off a
weekend of fishing.
