Gulf Craft’s ‘customer for life’ approach goes online
The most important things in boating this month

Following its success, and particularly
in the Middle East, the all-terrain
Iguana 29 is now available in a host
of new deck layouts and applications.
“Until now we were mostly focusing
on Iguana Yachts for waterfront
properties,” explained Steve Huppert,
Sales Manager for Iguana Yachts.
“But due to continued requests
from current and prospective
owners, we have developed a
series of customisable finishes and
applications more suited to the
superyacht market.”
The boat with the cat tracks that
many saw as a gimmick a few years
ago has been increasingly taken up
by owners who want the thrill of
boating without the berthing hassle.
And while on land it can pull 2 tons
and travel at 5mph, on the water, the
carbon fibre shell and high standard
of finish has also won over the
more conservative.
Leveraging its publicised liquidity and strong pride in
product, UAE builder Gulf Craft has formalised its ‘trade-
in-to-trade-up’ service through a new online portal. The
new listings webpage (http://preowned.gulfcraftinc.com)
now publicly brokers those vessels that have been taken
in part exchange by Gulf Craft for owners upgrading in the
Gulf Craft portfolio.
As with many yacht sale search engines, the webpage
offers buyers the ability to tailor their searches by model,
brand, year of delivery and location, as well as send
purchase queries to the Gulf Craft team.
“Offering an active trade-in policy benefits all parties
involved, giving existing owners a chance to upgrade while
offering other buyers great value on available pre-owned
craft,” said Erwin Bamps, Chief Executive Officer, Gulf
Craft. “We believe in the ‘customers for life’ approach, and
are keen to support our client base every step of the way.
The launch of the listing web page formalizes a service we
have offered our customers for some time now and is one
that has received a very positive response.”
As part of the policy of selling ‘certified’ used craft, Gulf
Craft provides factory warranty of up to six months on
pre-owned vessels sold through this service.
“Launching this service underscores the confidence
we have in our product and the fact that our high quality
yachts and boats retain their value over the long-term.
The service strengthens the relationship within the
purchase cycle with our existing customers. By the same
measure, by assisting buyers in obtaining high quality,
certified pre-owned boats we extend our customer base
even further,” added Bamps. And of course for the mobile
user, there’s an app for apple and android as well.

Re-inventing the Iguana
“Captains and owners tell me
that the shock absorption on this
9.2-metre boat is much better
than most 12-metre centre console
boats and that the drive is one of the
smoothest they have experienced
in this category of tender,”
continued Steve.
With an exclusive new model being
prepared for Dubai International
Boat Show in March, here is a sneak
preview of some of the customisable
options available.
