Chris S: Well put it this way, we won best new dealer at the Boat Owner
Awards for one of our brands in 2014... we are on course for best worldwide
dealer in 2015!
Brett: We predict a sales increase for 2015 based on the strong end to
2014 and the confidence in the region growing with more liquidity and
outstanding developments being approved to commence throughout the
GCC. Our sales targets will be similar to 2014 with a mixture of new and used
across the GCC region.
External Stimuli:
Are events generated by the UAE having an effect on your business?
Overview: Despite the media hype, little commercial results have been felt by
the massive events and infrastructure projects the UAE is embarking on.
Chris S: I guess the positive hype is good, but I don’t believe it ultimately
defines boat buying trends.
Brett: We aren’t currently seeing a specific affect from any of the media-
publicised projects though there is considerable buzz around these
events and we expect to see the results more so once the new projects are
completed and in general over the coming years due to the positive mindset
of consumers.
Chris M: Apart from increasing the amount of traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road?
Not really.
Miguel: Not at this stage, but for sure they will have an impact in the
months/years to come. Dubai is starting to face again the biggest problem
of all, lacking of berth, this for sure will slow down the business if no more
marinas are planned to be built.
