Benetti’s lion takes first roar

Sleek, flowing and distinctly Italian, 90 metre
Lionheart has become the biggest yacht to be
launched by Benetti in its 143-year history.
Lionheart is the third yacht to be ordered
from the Livorno yard by the same owners and
replaces the 63.5 metre Lionheart (now Lioness V),
launched in 2006. That boat, now available for
charter, is said to be one of the most highly specified
yachts built by the yard, with a treasure trove of
amenities ranging from a gym and hammam to
a cinema, beach club and bulging toy garage.
The new Lionheart features exterior design
by Stefano Natucci in collaboration with Benetti.

The build has been shrouded in secrecy from the
outset but Lionheart is reported to have a garage
up front, with side-opening doors for easy launching
of tenders. The private balconies on the main deck
are a notable feature, while more shell doors around
the transom suggest a large beach club that can be
opened on both sides. With the yacht in the water,
final outfitting will take place ready for delivery to
its owners later this year.
Lionheart replaces 85.9 metre Kingdom 5KR,
which featured in the James Bond movie Never
Say Never Again and was once owned by
Donald Trump, as Benetti’s flagship.

Penned by Dykstra and built at
Damen, Stad Amsterdam has
a Dutch pedigree superyacht
owners will envy. But this tall
ship was built for the city of
Amsterdam and this book
collates four years of gorgeous
photography that charts her
adventures since her 2000
launch. A treat for sailors with
a sense of romance. €49,95,
